The current research aimed to measure the academic delay in the middle school students.

The current research sample consisted of (100) students from the preparatory stage.

The researchers constructed the academic delay scale and presented it to a group of experts and arbitrators and extracted the psychometric characteristics.

The results of the current research show that the students in the preparatory stage have academic delays, and there are statistically significant differences in the level of academic delay according to the specialization variable ( Scientific and literary) and in favor of literary specialization, and in view of the current results, the researchers presented a number of recommendations and proposals.
