Abstract EN

The Relationship between the Degree of Disability and Social Adaptation for Families of people with Intellectual-Disability in Rand Institute in Jerusalem Governorate The present study aims to explore the relationship between the degree of Disability and the social adaptation for the families of people with intellectual-Disability in Rand Institute in Jerusalem governorate by interviewing these families.

For the sake of the study, an analytical descriptive approach is utilized.

The study comprises of a sample of 94 parents of Intellectual-Disability people.

The study shows that there is a significant correlation between the degree of Disability and adaptation for families of people with intellectual disability.

The study also reveals that there are relationships between intensity of psychological responses and adaptation; between social networks and adaptation; between social acceptance and the degree of disability.

Additionally, the results indicate that there are no significant differences in the scale of social adaptation for the families of people with intellectual disability according to sex or type of Intellectual- Disability.

However, the study shows that there are differences on the scale of social adaptation according to family monthly income, in favor to middle income.
