Abstract EN

Political boundaries turned out to be a key providers for lack of internal and regional stability; due to their definition as lines at which state sovereignty begins and ends, they are connected with two main pints:- internal relating the ability of the state to secure them from any real or potential threats and external and international subjects to regional and international influences relating border security.

Threats are focused on the Iraqi border after 2003, as they are exposing to the US occupation , the loss of state sovereignty , and the unprotected borders, they become a conduit for non-traditional threats with tangled and escalating nature to represent a cross-border terrorism.

Moreover some of the neighbor countries employed their borders, taking advantage of the geographical characteristics of the border area of the Iraqi state through the infiltration of terrorist groups and their support to political and economic and ideological differences contributed to the growing phenomenon of terrorism in Iraq till this day.
