Abstract EN

:This study aimed to identify the scientific values included in the physics textbook for the 12th grade of the high school in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The study has included all topics covered in the textbook.

To be able to achieve the goals of the study, the researcher used the descriptive methodology through content analysis approach.

The researcher concluded that the number of scientific values in the physics textbook were (521) scientific values.

These values were different between the first and the second semester of the book.

The Physics textbook contained the highest scientific appreciation value (14.

2%) comparing to other values where the sciences appreciation values were (4.

8%).

It was clear to the researcher that the physics textbook has low scientific values once linked to the education policy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the objectives of the high school grade, and the Physics materials as well.

It was clear that the attention to the values were random and without proper planning for the scientific values that should be learned and concentrated on them.

As a result, the study provided recommendations to enhance and develop the role of the Physics textbook by giving more attention to the scientific values.

This should be done based on clear goals that should be adapted by the authors of the textbook to commensurate with the current technological and scientific standards.

In addition, it has been advised to distribute the scientific values in a more organized manner and to concentrate on the scientific values that have not been mentioned in the textbook by repeating them if needed.
