Arabic Abstract

تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على اتجاهات مقالات الرأي في الصحف الإلكترونية الأمريكية نحو قضية الاستيطان في فلسطين، و الوقوف على أنواعها، و مدى اهتمام كتابها بها و مواقفهم منها، و أهدافها، و الحلول المقترحة لها، و الأساليب المتبعة و الاقناعية المستخدمة معها، و القوى الفاعلة فيها، و مصادرها الأولية، و تأثير توجهاتها الفكرية و الأيدولوجية على اتجاهاتها نحو موضوعات الاستيطان، و مدى التوافق و الاختلاف فيها، و تعد هذه الدراسة من البحوث الوصفية التي استخدمت منهجي : الدراسات المسحية و في إطاره أسلوب تحليل المضمون، و دراسة العلاقات المتبادلة و من خلاله أسلوبي المقارنة المنهجية و الدراسات الارتباطية، و كما اعتمدت على نظريتي تحليل الأطر، و ترتيب الأولويات.

و تم اختيار عينة الدراسة بأسلوب الحصر الشامل لمقالات الاستيطان البالغ عددها (152) مقالا في مواقع الصحف الأمريكية، NYT، و ل WSJ و WP، وNYP، خلال المدة الزمنية الممتدة من 1 مارس 2013م إلى 28 فبراير 2018م.

وخلصت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج أبرزها : • اهتمام صحف الدراسة بموضوع "الاستيطان وعملية السلام" أولا بنسبة 33.6%، تلاه "إدارة باراك أوباما و الاستيطان" بنسبة 15.8%، ثم منتجات المستوطنات و حملات المقاطعة" بنسبة 13.1%.

• غلبة الاتجاه المعارض للاستيطان في مقالات الصحف الإلكترونية الأمريكية بنسبة 44.1%، و غلبة الأهداف المناهضة للاستيطان بنسبة 54.5%.

وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين موضوعات الاستيطان و اتجاه الكتاب نحوها، و تأثير التوجهات الفكرية و الأيدولوجية لمواقع صحف الدراسة الأمريكية بشكل كبير على اتجاهاتها نحو قضية الاستيطان و خرجت الدراسة بعدة توصيات أهمها : • تزويد كتاب الصحف الأمريكية بمعلومات حول ممارسات المستوطنين وأثار الاستيطان على الفلسطينيين، مع تسليط الضوء أكثر على الجانب الانساني والقانوني لبناء المستوطنات.

• تزويد كتاب الصحف الأمريكية بالرموز و الدلالات بالشكل الذي يخدم القضية فلسطينيا، كالتأكيد مثلا على "الشعب الفلسطيني" بدلا من "الفلسطينيين"، و"الأراضي الفلسطينية" بدلا من "المناطق الفلسطينية" لما له من دلالة امتلاك الأرض.

• اعتماد الصحف الأمريكية على المصادر المختلفة و من بينها الفلسطينية و العربية، حتى لا تقتصر مصادرهم على الأمريكية و الإسرائيلية بالدرجة الأولى فحسب، لما له من تأثير على صحة المعلومات و تحيزها.

English Abstract

This study aims at exploring the stance of opinion articles in U.S.

online newspapers on the Israeli settlements in Palestine.

Besides, it explores the types of articles, writers’ interest and stance on the settlement's topics, objectives included, solutions offered, writing and persuasive styles used, actors highlighted, initial sources depended on, influence of American newspapers ideologies on their stance on the Israeli settlement's topics, in addition to the similarities and differences among them.

This study is descriptive research, and it applies both survey methodology using content analysis and mutual relations methodology using methodological comparison and correlational approach.

The study employs the theories of framing analysis and agenda setting.

The sample was chosen by a comprehensive survey of the articles of Israeli settlements topics, totaled (152), in the websites of the American newspapers: NYT, WSJ, WP, and NYP during the period from 1 March 2013 to 28 Feb.

The study reached a number of results the most important of which Are : • The topic of “settlements & peace” came first accounting for 33.6%, followed by “settlements & Obama Administration” accounting for 15.8%, then “settlements products & boycott campaigns” accounting for 13.1%.

• Most writers, accounting for 44.1%, opposed the Israeli settlements, and the objectives opposing them, too, predominated accounting for 54.5%.

• There is a correlation between the Israeli settlements' topics and the writers’ stance on them, besides; the ideological tendencies of the American online newspapers greatly influence their stance on the Israeli settlements.

The study came up with some recommendation the most important of which are : • The writers of American newspapers should be provided with information about the settlers' practices against the Palestinians highlighting the human rights and legal aspects.

• They should also be provided with symbols, terms, and references in a way that serves the Palestinian cause, e.g., “Palestinian people” instead of “Palestinians” and “Palestinian land” instead of “Palestinian territories” as they indicate the land property.

• The American newspapers should depend on various sources including the Palestinian and Arabic ones, so as not to depend on the Israeli and American ones only, for avoiding mistaken information and bias.
