Abstract EN

This research is considered to be an application on one of the paths adopted by Islamic Jurists to overcome the apparent contradiction between texts, which is the path of Abrogation.

The researcher studied Quranic verses the apparent contradiction of which the four imams – May Allaah have mercy on them – agreed to solve by abrogation.

He collected those verses and arranged them according to jurisprudence classification.

He then studied them by showing the apparent incompatibility between them and the paths of investigation scholars have followed to eliminate this incompatibility, in addition to mentioning the supporting arguments and weighing between them.

This is when there is a significant disagreement in the matter; otherwise the path of abrogation agreed upon by the four imams is adopted and is supported with evidence.

At the end, the researcher listed nineteen results he reached through this research.

He also made it clear that if the abrogation was mentioned by a clarifying narration )khabar( stating that one of the verses is abrogated by another, Islamic Jurists, would opt for abrogation )Naskh( rather than combination and reconciliation between texts.

This is mainly due to the obligation to use all that is indicated by the abrogating text and the fact that it is not permissible to leave, interpret, specify or limit it to an abrogated text
