Abstract EN

This research aims at explaining contemporary Salafi jurisprudence by defining it and demystifying the truth about it.

This is premised on the belief that the concpt of Salafism is controversial and that many people, including intellectuals, think that there are multiple kinds of Salafism arising from the multiplicity of the opinions of their advocators.

The research shows that Salafism has no history and that it is a holistic approach founded on the principle of follow-up and recourse to evidence in everything.

The study also draws on the issue of adhering to Salafism and on the question of whether or not the affiliation with any doctrine requires rejection of other jurisprudential doctrines and adoption of an independent attitude that is based on a legitimate proof accepted by Shari’a.
