Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to present the Joint Implementation Mechanism (JIM) adopted by the Kyoto Protocol, which represents the legal basis for the UNFCCC 1992, and which are part of the inter-State policies to combat climate change, The provisions of the Protocol on the procedures and principles governing the functioning of the JIM, as well as the presentation of the experience of Ukraine, which is the most attractive country for the projects of this mechanism.

The study concluded that JIM is supervised by the Conference of the Parties and has two tracks, which gives the countries more freedom and flexibility.

The mechanism has also contributed to the implementation of many economic projects that contributed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but it faces many challenges.
