Abstract EN

One of the most important features of Islamic Shari’a is its longevity and its validity for all times and places.

This can be seen through understanding of the scripts of the Quran and Sunnah and through examination of the words that express its purposes and objectives, because it is the purposes of Shari’a that give essence to the scripts and the words.

Most likely, understanding hadith without considering these purposes leads to misunderstanding of the intention of religion.

That’s why scholars of Islam took them into consideration while dealing with many hadiths, and they based their opinions on those understandings.

It is from this perspective that this research offers a theoretical and applied study of the effects of the purposes of Shari’a on the understanding of prophetic hadiths.

The researcher started by introducing the concept of purposes, their importance in understanding hadith, and the rules that regulate their application.

He then talked about the effects of the purposes of Shari’a on the jurisprudence of hadith from the following angles: (1) the effect of puprposes on the meanings of hadith, the elucidation of its words, the narrowing down of their meanings and their interpretation; (2) the effect of puprposes on the interpretation of hadith words by eliminating plain contradictions and the contradictions that arise as a result of the interference of interest and corruption, and (3) the change of Islamic ruling on adopting a given hadith as a result of the changes in time, places, traditions, and situations.
