Abstract EN

The aim of the study was to know the effect of using a strategy of quintet cycle of learning in teaching on the achievement and development of mathematical thinking for students of the essential seventh grade in a Mathematics subject in the Abyan govemorate - Yemen.

The research problem was determined by the following main question : What is the effect of using a strategy of quintet cycle of learning in teaching on the achievement and development of thinking ? To answer this question the following main hypothesis was designed: We expect that there will be effect with using of a strategy of quintet cycle of learning in mathematics teaching on development the achievement and mathematical thinking for students of the essential seventh grade in Yemen And to answer the main hypothesis of the research; the researchers conducted an experiment on a sample of 76 students that were divided into two groups.

The experimental group consisting of (38) was educated using a strategy of quintet cycle of learning and the control group of (38) students which was educated in the usual way.

The sample individuals were subjected to first test consists of 30 paragraphs, and the second test for mathematical thinking consists of (24) paragraphs.

And from the research results, the superiority of the experimental group which was educated using a strategy of quintet cycle is superior than the control group in achievement in mathematical, mathcmatic thinking generalization skills, induction, expression by symbols and logical thinking, and as, it turned out the superiority of the same students in mathematical thinking test as a whole, Except for the mathematical elicitation and mathematical proof.
