The economic and social conditions in many Arab and Muslim countries increase the inevitability to legislate the Zakat.

which is growing in importance: the conditions stress the need for state intervention in this matter in one step, in order to activate the Islamic economy.

The Sudan is considered to be one of the leading countries in developing a legislation that governs the Zakat and its systems of application, as well as its extensions to companies and also to invested state fluids.

This incites us to consider the Sudanese Zakat experience and its effectiveness, and take it as a model to be applied throughout the Arab and Islamic countries, in order to eradicate poverty and social inequalities and to achieve a social solidarity.
