The study aimed to detect the most common developmental problems among a Jordanian sample of children with autism in the first three years of age from the viewpoint of their families.
the study sample consisted of (44) autism case, from autism and special education centers, as well as some of home cases, have been selected by using purposive sample .
the data were obtained for the study, through the direct interview and telephone interview to the families of autistic children, and then processing the resulting data using averages, standard deviations and percentages as well as using “t” test to find differences between males and females the results indicate that the most common problems in children with autism in the first three years, which ranged between (93.2% - 70.5%) had been :the difficulty of making eye contact with others by (93.2%), followed by the difficult interaction with the surroundings by (84.1%), and the difficulty to response to the visual and hearing stimuli around him and the tendency to play alone are (79.5%), and then the tendency of the child to play games or things typically and stereotype by (75%), and then the problem of speech delay by (70.5%).
the results indicate that there were no statistically significance differences (0.05) in the developmental problems among the children with autism in the first three years of age attributable to.
