This study aims to recognize the correlation between achievement motivation and the quality of life among students enrolled in the Faculty of Home Economics in King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah.

To this aim, the researcher has employed the analytical descriptive approach.

Data and information of the study have been collected thru employment of a number of tools and instruments incorporated in a questionnaire of general information, the scale of achievement motivation prepared by the researcher, and the scale of quality of life prepared by Mansi and Kazem (2006).

The basic sample group of the study was composed of a purposive sample of 230 students enrolled in the Faculty of Home Economics, of all departments and at different academic levels (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year) in King Abdul Aziz University – Jeddah Campus.

Appropriate statistical analysis was made in order to conclude the findings of the study and verify reliability of the assumptions.

Following are among the most significant findings concluded by the study.

The study revealed a direct relationship between the dimensions of the scale of achievement motivation and the topics of the scale of quality of life among members of the sample group at the indicative level of (0.01 – 0.05).

Also, the study pointed out to differences between specific weights of achievement motivation dependent upon the different dimensions among members of the sample group.

The dimensions are organized as follows: Self-Confidence, Troubleshooting Skills, Pursuit of Excellence, Persistence, and Autonomy.

However, findings of the study revealed differences in the specific weights of quality of life according to the differences in its topics among Home Economics Students – members of the sample group.

These topics are arranged and organized as follows: Quality of Psychological Health, Quality of Public Hygiene, Quality of Familial Life, Quality of Time Occupancy and Management, Quality of Sentiments (the Emotional Aspect), and Quality of Education & Learning.

In light of the findings concluded by the study, the researcher has made a number of recommendations as follows.

Family and the university shall give more attention to the students’ self-learning approach thru creating chances and opportunities to all the students discover by themselves.

By doing so, students could be able to achieve autonomy and improve the skills necessary to express themselves.

Findings explained that this would be achieved thru preparation of some educational executive programs intended to stimulate the students’ motivation; and allow the students participate in seminars, symposiums and off-curriculums activities.

As well, findings of the study stressed the necessity for development of learning and education strategies, which could help students be concerned with improvement of quality of education and learning.

In addition, the researcher recommended development of training programs that would help the students acquire additional skills such as time management skills and the ways to spend their leisure time.

By doing so, awareness and sensation about the quality of life would further be improved among the students.
