Abstract EN

The present papers falls into four chapters: the first one is devoted to the Problem, the Significance, the Limitations, the Objectives and the most important terms used.

Chapter Two deals with the ‘Theoretical framework’ of the paper, and it, however, falls into two sections: 'The Concept of Social Dimensions and its Role in Art'.

The second section is given to the ' Approaches to the Social System in Contemporary Iraqi Painting’ as well as the indicators of the ‘Theoretical Framework.' The Third chapter deals with the 'Procedures of the Paper', the ' the Samples, the Methodologies, and the tools’ employed to analyze the data, which amount to five paintings.

Chapter Four is given to the 'Results, Conclusions, Recommendations and Suggestions'.

The most significant results arrived at are: the Iraqi artist has employed a number of personal visions and projections associated with the social system in its politico-intellectual and ideological struggles and strife that have influenced the nature of the social conditions and its reflections in in art, as seen in samples 4 and 5.

Among the conclusions the present paper arrives at are that the social aspect that surrounds the artist is inseparable from its ego, and that the images copied from the social reality is nothing but a reflection of the socio-human events that affect his life.
