Abstract EN

The study seeks to know the reality of the spatial distribution of health services in Afak and identify the reasons for their inequality between residential neighborhoods and to indicate the extent of their functional efficiency according to the approved local planning standards.

The study relied on descriptive analytical methodology and quantitative approach.

In addition, some statistical methods such as (coefficient of correlation and coefficient of selection and linear regression coefficient) were used to analyze the obtained data.

In order to complete the study requirements, data and information about service institutions were collected by fieldwork.

The data collection was based on the sample questionnaire for a random sample of 303, personal interviews and exploratory visits.

These methods helped the researchers to construct a geographical database which was analyzed using the GIS program (ARC GIS 10.3) in a form of figures or maps that were showed in the study content.

The study found that the number and quality of services provided by the health institutions in the city were inadequate.

As the city contained only one hospital, two health centers and one public clinic.

Therefore the services regional impact was reduced and limited to the city, villages and sub-districts belonged to which indicates a significant disturbance in the efficiency of their performance in Afak.
