Abstract EN

The current study deals with the critical point of view of the concept of intertextuality of the Arab prominent critic Deea al-Din Ibn al-Athir al-Jazari who died in 637 AH.

Ibn al-Athir al-Jazari pointed to the concept of intertextuality eight centuries ago.

He set up the theory of the intertextuality and practiced its norms and values.

In addition, he indicates to the aesthetic and artistic features of the intertextuality.

His point of view and critical remarks are presented through critiques and analysis of some artistic texts when he found a relationship of these texts with other cultures and texts, whether this intertextuality happened intentionally or unintentionally.

As a result, Ibn al-Athir al-Jazari was the pioneer of discovering the concept of intertextuality before the modern western critiques have pointed to it.
