Abstract EN

Delving into reading books and showing its true value is considered one of the most significant duties of the historian, as history and the rest of other sciences did not travel through time and be in the possession of our hands except through these books, so it's necessary that we find out what the authors have to say about them , and how they distinguished the good ones from the rest of books .

And what is the criticism they have drawn towards the authors and their publications , so in this research we have chosen Ibn Katheer the historian ( died on 774 Hijri – 1372 A.D ) .

in his book ( the beginning and ending ) .

In it he took a stand of an examiner criticizer on some of the books , of which he appreciated the good ones , and had drawn his criticism against the books which deserved to be criticized , focusing in that on its authors .

The research has covered up four arbors, the first one dealt with the biography of Ibn Katheer in abbreviation , the second one dealt with criticism , as for the third one was dealing with his evaluation of the good books , the fourth one talked about his criticism of the books and their authors .

Thus we have tried as much as possible to highlight the important publications which he criticized, plus his criticism of some authors
