Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the role of Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) in enhancing the in-service teachers’ professional development program in the light of the quality standards and the impediments that face this program.

The variables used in this study are gender, qualification and experience.

A questioner of (37) items was developed and distributed to a sample of (204) teachers who joined the program in the academy.

The study revealed that quality standards role in enhancing the teachers’ professional development were represented by continuous training courses to follow up the application and implementation of quality standards on the teachers’ performance.

Furthermore, the study showed that the role of grta in enhancing the in-service professional development program was represented by encouraging teachers to accept the responsibility of their own selforiented professional development.

The impediments of the program were the scarcity of incentives offered to teachers by the ministry.

The study showed, also, that there was no statistically significant difference among the average of the teachers due to the variables: gender, qualification and experience.
