Abstract EN

Given the importance of the role of social work in the field of human rights, specifically in the area of social justice, this study aimed at understanding the relationship between the social work profession and social justice in Jordan from social workers' perspective.

The field study was conducted sixteen of the social worker’s sample.

The researcher used a qualitative approach; data were collected through collective-depth consultation.

The study found a range of results, the most important of which was the agreement between participants on the importance of social justice, and at the same time, the lack of consensus among them about the concept of social justice.

On reviewing the relationship between social work and social justice, through education and practice, it was pointed out that the reality of relationship was limited to general information, either in academic or in practice.

The study concluded a set of recommendations the most important of which were the need to develop social work platforms, to include more in depth information on the relationship between social work and social justice, with the need to provide them with the skills, to include social justice in their professional practice, in addition to the need for further indepth studies on the subject.
