English Abstract

Higher education is one of the basic pillars for the adoption of the societies through which knowledge, values and skills are formed.

This will reorient the individual and form the structure of his mental thinking.

To ensure this, higher education institutions have adopted standards that are concerned with the quality of the educational environment.

Academic programs, university administration, school buildings and facilities.

To achieve this, the educational environment must be considered from a planning point of view.

This is easily accessible, taking into account the road network, responding to future expansions, Taking into account the environmental guidance of the buildings, taking into account the provision of spaces for the students, as well as the need to consider the educational environment in terms of design is the size of the school and its environment and its impact on external factors, and focus on the classrooms and their relationship with the surrounding spaces, and the environmental factors exposed to it, Interior and finishing materials.

The research aims to identify the educational environment and its components and study the most important planning and design criteria that help in the development of the educational process and increase its efficiency.

As for the research problem, the researcher seeks to answer the question "Did the university buildings affect the quality of the educational environment in institutions of higher education" The research was based on the positive answer to the question.

In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted the analytical descriptive method in dealing with the subject.

The questionnaire and the personal interview were adopted as a means of accessing the information.

The most important fundamentals of the educational process, and an important factor in the success of the educational process, and increase the level of achievement of students, the more appropriate the educational building and equipped in all ways and means, the better the quality of education, and to achieve this must be taken planning considerations and design to ensure good guidance for the classrooms, lighting, ventilation and acoustics to make the educational environment more quality and effectiveness.

The recommendations were the most important, the planning criteria should be taken into account in the development of the master plan universities to make the educational environment more effective and effective to the student, Identify the design criteria, the study of the most important design conditions required in the educational buildings and study spaces that must be provided in university buildings and sizes and spaces of these spaces, which vary depending on several factors and influences.
