Abstract EN

This study discusses the debates over The continued NATO presence and its efforts to expand.

In this regards, it examines the arguments and factors presented by the alliance theoryrhetoric.

The study puts these debates and discussions in one central question: is NATO's survival and its continued enlargement necessary, natural and vital? It also notes that despite the optimism and idealism that wasenhanced by itscontinuationto exist after the cold war end and its successful integration of many countries in the “Euro-Atlantic club” and the NATO’ssuccessful passagetowards "globalization", the alliance is stillfacing many hidden obstacles and problems currently and probably even in the future.

This study, in its attempt to analyze the conflicting discourses and views about The reality and fate of NATO expansion, is trying to present some positions in this regard, without aiming to give definitive answers on whether NATO expansionshould be continued or curbed.

reason for this is that thisexpansion is stilla vague, broad and unresolved matter, both at the academic level, andinside NATO’s institutions or inbetween thealliance actors.
