Abstract EN

This study aimed to know the challenges facing the application of professional standards for teachers and the proposed solutions to face them from the supervisors perspectives in Amman Educational Directorates.

Population and sample of the study consisted of all Educational supervisors (245).

For acheiving the objectives of the study, the Mixed Research Method was used, by two study instruments, one of them is a survey for knowing the challenges, and the other one is Interview for knowing the solutions.

The study found that the level of challenges was moderate for all domains of challenges, and the results showed in ordering domains from most challenges domain to the least one as follows: Self development, Lesson planning, Students’ learning evaluation, Lesson execusion , Education in Jordan, Academic and pedogical knowledge, and at the end of challenges was the teaching profession ethics.

The study introduced some proposed solutions to face theose challenges , such as: The necessity of teachers’ knowing the law of education and legislation issued by the Ministry of education.

To make teacher develop himself through pursuing his higher studies in universities and attending training sessions which are held by the Ministry of education.

The cooperation between educational supervisors and teachers in order to provide teachers with new educational expertise.

Reinforcing teachers’ positive attitudes towards their profession through legislations for improving the financial conditions and their social situations.

In the light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended: Reviewing some standards to make them Clearer, and able to be measured, one more thing is traning teachers on the educational innovations, besides changing teachers and educational supervisors’ attitudes so as to be positive towards the process of educational development.
