Abstract EN

The study aims at finding the efficiency of strategies based on group-work in improving the composition skills for the ninth grade students in the Directorate of Education in Al-Qaser Region.

To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher created a list of the skills of composition and a measurement of the skills of composition.

The samples of the study involve two sections from Omar Bin Al-Khattab Secondary School, which were randomly selected: Section A, which constituted a control group, involved forty-four students; whereas Section B, which wad an experimental group, involved forty-four students as well.

The researcher made sure that the two sections were comparable in terms of the financial and social conditions and of the academic achievement.

The pretest was administered at the beginning of the academic year 2017/2018 in order to make sure that the population of the study had the basic skills of composition.

The results of this study showed that the performance of the samples was poor.

Then, the samples were taught with strategy proposed in the current study, which is based on group-work.

The control group was taught in the usual way.

The results of the study showed that was a statistically significant difference at (0.05) in favor of the control group.

The difference was ascribed to the strategy proposed in the present study, which are based on group-work.
