Abstract EN
This study aimed to show the characteristics of Islamic banks that distinguish them from other conventional banks.
The study also sought to explain the effect these characteristics have on the nature of the financing carried out in Islamic banks.
And concluded that there were significant differences in these characteristics that were reflected in the nature of the transactions and what they should be.
The study mentioned the most prominent differences, such as, the basis of the contract, abiding by the provisions of Sharia in transactions, the prohibition of banking interest, the nature of the relationship of banking mediation and the adaptation of participation, and the establishment of Islamic banks on the basis of ethics, social functions and real investments.
The study recommended upgrading real investment based on participation and speculation, while minimizing existing debt based contracts, and recommending legal facilities in banking systems to facilitate their work in the countries where they operate.
