Abstract EN

Hasan Hameed tried to represent serious events through his own special narrative technique portraying features of the setting in both titles and subtitles of his novel and through the use of footnotes and confessions.

Such a technique demonstrated the novelist's vision and attracted reader's attention by its reliance on political, religious ,historical and social symbolism as reflected by the novel's major characters ( Ya'qoub , his daughters and Sulayman).The narrated events contained all Arabic pain on that bridges to be an evidence of the tragedy of a nation and a homeland where the past , the present as well as the possible and the impossible intermingled to show us the results of carelessness in foreseeing danger and running after personal interests through folkloric characters that reflected the Palestinian nation's dilemma through Jacob's journey and his exploitation of everyone around him .Consequently, intertextuality flowed in narrative units following a new technique of commentaries , marginal comments and footnotes .
