Abstract EN

This paper aims at discussing the deep structure of the Sufi poetry represented by the Bosairi’s text of ‘Borda’ that involves indications, inspiration, meanings and symbols intended by the poet intentionally or unintentionally.

The poet then was able to freight his ‘Borda’ text with themes having a relation with the Sufi tongue which is considered as a deep lofty language.

The latter raises a series of questions and carries a number of interpretations generated from the affective and sensational experiences, and also from the personal inner characteristics that are far from the reality.

The Sufi language is symbolic and metaphorical having many semantic meanings and interpretations.

It is characterized by imagination, moral semantic displacement, acting, borrowing, ambiguity, metaphor and the lack of declaration and direct expression.

So, the field of research in the poetic Sufi language is fertile; it is so in the sense that Sufi people adopted using Signs, symbols and semantic meanings in their language quite different from those of literature, philosophy, politics, speech, logic ...

etc.

These Sufi metaphors are formed and used in a particular context, and involve special sentences and vocabulary words, so that each word refers to a special meaning, and each structure has a special concept; this cannot be understood except by those who are really experienced in the subject of Sufism.

So, no one can study a Sufi text and its language without resorting to such Sufi experience.

In other words, the language was formed through a Sufi perspective which was, in turn, subjected to a series of personal practices.

The different Sufi words and contexts cannot substitute the Sufi experience because the latter is not an experience in vision only, but it is also linked to writing.

The Sufi Language is unique and ambiguous having specific terms and structures.

It is not easy to be understood without being practised at the spiritual level, but when it is clarified, one could easily inspire a blend of Sufism, sincerity and a philosophy of beauty.

That is indeed what is embodied in El-Bosairi Borda.
