If Language in normal conversation performs a news function, then in literary discourse performs an aesthetic function in addition to the other functions : because the linguistic signs have the ability to shift at the level of meaning , in order to become a sign of another type that indicates another meaning in what is known as the semantic transformation in the different types of metaphor, and yet , we find that the majority of the scholars are unanimous that the novelist discourse is one of the literary genres where we can imagine an novel without events but we cannot imagine a novel without language, which makes reading the language in the novel different from one critic to another.
