Abstract EN

The study aims to examine and evaluate the differences in competition anxiety and tension levels between Athlete scity and countryside inhabitants among rural running , as well as to examine the differences in self-esteem patterns regarding their genders and clubs engagement factors.

The study aims to figure out the relation between competition anxiety and self-esteem patterns using a scientific scale designed by Mohammed Hassan Allaoui.

The scale consists of 20 expressions among 4 variable patterns to the individual, which are: 1.

Negative self-esteem and a positive selfesteem toward the others.

2.

Negative self-esteem and negative assessment toward the others.

3.

Positive self-esteem and negative assessment toward the others.

4.

Positive self-esteem and positive assessment to the others.

Competition anxiety scale was designed by Rayner Martinez; it consists of 15 expressions and elements while the study sample consists of 62 athletes divided between 37 males and 25 females among them 46 club-engaged and 16 non-club engaged athletes.

The sample itself was divided between 36 athletes originated from the countryside, and 26 athletes originated from 17 city-states.

The study suppositions proved: firstly, the impact of the living- place on the levels of competition anxiety patterns among rural running athletes.

Secondly, the existence in differences in self-esteem patterns regarding the gender and engagement in clubs factor.

Finally, the existence of a relation between competition anxiety and the patterns of selfesteem.

The final results of the study show the existence of statistical indication and connotation differences among countryside and city inhabitants concerning the first supposition.

The lack of statistical indication differences among self-esteem patterns regarding the gender except the first case, where the differences exist in favour of males.

Concerning the factor of engaging in clubs, the study proves that there are no differences in self-esteem patterns concerning the second supposition, as well as it confirms the lack of the statistical indication relation between competition anxiety and selfesteem pattern except the second and the third cases, where they show that relation with competition anxiety.
