Abstract EN

The well-known trademark is considered as a mean of guaranteeing both the producer and the consumer at the same time.

It prevents the mixing of certain products with similar products bearing another mark ,it also work to shapes trust in certain products when it bears a reliable mark, this is why it has a special legal protection which differs from other trademarks.

Furthermore, there have been a numerous international conventions to protect the well- known trademark as it has been set by some standards and guidelines to identify and distinguish them from the ordinary marks.

We find that most legislations had devoted a civil and penal protections under its laws, this has been referred to by the Algerian legislation in law 03-06 concerning the trademarks .
