Abstract EN

Negative Evaluation level (FNE) among a sample of Male students at Nizwa University.

The sample of the study consisted of (26) students who obtained the highest score on Fear of Negative Evaluation scale (Leary, 1983).

It was randomly divided into two groups: experimental groups & control group, each consisted of (13) students.

Participants in the treatment group attended the group counseling program that was held (10 sessions); 2 sessions per week for 5 consecutive weeks, whereas participants in the control group received no treatment.

The results of study showed significant differences in Fear of Negative Evaluation scale in favor of the experimental group compared to the control group (a < 0.05).

These differences were also maintained through the follow-up test.

The study concluded that the (Counseling Program) was effective in reducing Fear of Negative Evaluation level.
