On the 25th of May 1981, the Arab Gulf region launched an important new phase in its contemporary history, When the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait made the historic decision to establish the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), That decision embodied on the ground a large bundle of social, cultural, economic and political ties between these countries and their peoples, It invested in the factors of convergence and complementarity.

The last ten years have witnessed an important transformation of successful institutional work through which the GCC has entered an advanced stage of integration and unification, Embodied in the transition from the free trade zone to the establishment of the customs union, and the establishment of the Gulf Common Market.
