Abstract EN

The most remarkable criticism that's ever been given to the development model of oil economies is its dependence on an external variable that's totally subordinate to prices movement and dollar value, on one hand; oil recycling and debt, on the other hand.

A thing that made those economies vulnerable to many negative effects, which led to considering the natural resource more a curse than a blessing.

Given that, economists were urged to launch the term "the curse of natural resource" that provides the explanations residing after the weak economic performance of some economies that are rich in natural resources.

Considering the Algerian economy as one of those oil economies, the aim of this study is trying to find out if it is really suffering from the phenomenon of natural resource curse, and that goes through studying the explanations of this phenomenon.
