Abstract EN

The purpose of the study is designing an educational unit based on McGraw Hill program and measuring its effect on Reading comprehension among sixth grade female students in Jordan.

The study used a quasi- experimental approach, and to achieve this aim the sample was selected through a purposive sampling from sixth grade female students in Jordan in the schooling year 2017/2018.

The sample was divided into two groups; an experimental group consisted of (35) students from the sixth grade in Al-anduls secondary mixed school at Marka educational directorate taught through the proposed strategy; and a control group consisted of (35) female students studied through traditional strategy.

the researchers developed, reading test and administrated it on the sample after checking validity and reliability.

The findings of the study showed that there is significant statistical differences at the level of (a =0.05) between the means of groups performance on each reading skills and on them as a whole attributed to developed unit Vs traditional in favor of the experimental group
