Abstract EN

The study aims to shed light on the features and trends of the writings on economic life in (during) the time of the Prophet of Islam, based on a sample of one hundred and nineteen references in three languages (Arabic, English, French), and a descriptive analytical approach.

The study found that most of the writings were in Arabic (65 %), English (25 %) and Fre n ch (10 %), especially through the writings of the Iraqi historical school.

The frequency of the writings shows that the subject did not constitute a research program for the vast majority of researchers.

Moreover, the distribution by specialization reveals that the subject was given special and serious attention by historians (65 %).

This trend is confirmed by the distribution of publication medium, with most of the writings published in the form of articles (45 %) and books (24 %).

In light of the results, the study recommends exploring writings in other languages, especially Turkish, Urdu, Persian, Malay, Japanese and the European languages.

It also recommends listing the received ideas on economic life in the Prophetic era, some of which are discussed in Islamic literature without awareness of their backgrounds, dimensions and goals.
