Abstract EN

The current study seeks to examine the phenomenon of the structure of political parties in Mauritania and their splits.

The problem of the study revolves around the analysis of the role of the Mauritania political parties in consolidating the process of democratic transformation witnessed in Mauritania since the establishment of political pluralism on July 20, 1991.

Therefore, the research question is: What are the most important obstacles facing political parties in consolidating the process of democratization in Mauritania? The study aims to understand reasons that prevented political parties from contributing to the consolidation of the process of democratization in Mauritania.

To achieve this objective and know the reasons of the weak structure of Mauritanian political parties, the study adopts the analytical descriptive approach.
