Abstract EN

The objective of this topic is to examine the effectiveness of the Algerian state's new water management policy in order to reduce the subsidy of water pricing and cover the costs of water resource mobilization, distribution and administrative management expenses for water management institutions.

we reached the following results: Skikda's mandate for desalination of seawater was 49%, which indicates the importance of non- conventional resource.

- effectiveness of the use of drinking water was estimated at 36%, it is an indication of poor water bills distributed as a result of mismanagement by the Algerian water company.

- the efficiency of irrigation water use ranges between 55% to 75%, which indicates water leakage and loss, due to the introduction of distribution channels and pumps and lack of interest in their maintenance.

it is clear that the country has made considerable efforts to implement this new policy, but much remains to be done to promote the water resources sector in Algeria.
