Abstract EN

The purpose of this research is to realize and study ‘The Settlement of the Argument in Investigating the Diacritic Mark (kasrah) Under the Opening Letters of Present Verbs by Abi Zuraa Mohammed Bin Younis Al-Maqdessy Al-Shafi‘i’ (died 749AH).

This treatise examines the rules of the diacritic Kasrah added under the letters of the present form of the verb in the word (Annit) in some Arabic dialects.

Al-Shafi’I’s goal in writing his treatise was to gather the fragmented pieces of writings on the addition of the diacritic Kasrah to the letters of present verbs as explained in different resources and to compromise between the different opinions of the writers, in addition to criticizing and explaining them.

The importance of this treatise lies in the fact that it is the first study that discusses such phenomena and studies them in details, in addition to being the original handwritten manuscript.

Moreover, one of the features of this manuscript was the author’s method in ordering the sequence of scholars in a chronological order, elucidating their texts, balancing between them, and simplifying some of their conditions and rules
