Abstract EN

The researchers noticed al-Zubaidi’s frequent use of similes in “The Bride’s crown”.

They conducted their study on the similes of the word “Safarjal”.

They gathered all the similes of “Safarjal”, analyzed them morphologically, then classified them by their origin.

They tracked the phenomenon in former dictionaries, and concluded that al-Zubaidi was influenced by Fairuzabadi, but had his own additions.

The researchers found some deficiencies in his use of the simile pattern of “Safarjal”, such as the multiplicity of the simile patterns, and his neglect of affixes (nonroot letters).

In many places, the simile pattern did not achieve its goal, but rather confused the recipient.

By putting “Safarjal” on the same pattern with four- and three-letter inflected words, he made the recipient think all letters are part of the root.

Therefore, the researchers suggested reconsidering the deficiencies in al-Zubaidi, and used the “Safarjal” only with five- letter inflected words, while considering any affixes or letter reduplication and arguing that similes should meet the following: be Arabic not Arabized, individual not compound, have the same Arabic diacritics and number of root letters, consider the affixes, and be familiar and pronounceable.
