Abstract EN

The study’s objective is to identify the reality of the role of high-school female teachers in developing the mental aspect of female students in order to cope with the age of knowledge economy as viewed by high-school female students in Jeddah.

Also, the study aims at identifying the obstacles faced by the teachers to perform that role, and envisaging a proposed scenario to promote the teacher’s role in this respect.

Thus, a descriptive analytical method was adopted and the study sample consisted of (857) students and (275) teachers.

Among the findings of the study are: a medium rate was realized for the practice of a high-school teacher of her role in developing the mental aspect of the students.

There were statisticallysignificant differences in the response rate of the sample members of students regarding the reality of the teacher’s role in the development of the students’ mental aspect to cope with the age of knowledge economy.

The differences were in favor of 3rd-year-high-school students, scientific section, private education schools.

The general average of obstacles faced by a high-school teacher was “high” in performing the role of developing the students’ mental aspect in order to keep up with the knowledge economy.
