Abstract EN

This study aimed at designing an educational website in English curriculum and measuring its effect on developing reflective thinking skills of eighth grade female student in Jordan.

It provided answers for two questions in the effect of using instructional internet on improving reflective thinking skills of eighth grade female student, and the impact of the experimental group’s academic achievement in the reflective thinking exam.

The sample consisted of (82) eighth grade female students chosen randomly from two eighth grade sections, and divided in two groups: experimental and control group.

The experimental group studied English by using a designed educational website, while the control group studied the same unit by the traditional instruction.

Results of the study showed that: there were significant differences in developing reflective thinking skills of eighth grade female students due to teaching English curriculum via instructional website.

They also showed that there were significant differences in reflective thinking exam between experimental group’s students of high achievement on the one hand and medium and low achievement on the other hand, to the benefit of students with high achievement.

According to these results the researcher recommended using the internet in teaching thinking skills in English curriculum as well as drawing the attention of those in charge of curriculum at the Ministry of Education in Jordan to design Web sites for different curricula.
