Abstract EN

This paper presents a comparison between the experiences of two Sudanese private sector software development companies in working with the Sudanese public sector.

The comparison is based on the authors’ personal software development experience within the two companies.

The paper summarizes the experiences of the two companies in terms of the implementation of software projects and the challenges encountered by each company when dealing with public sector organizations.

A discussion of the main issues facing software development projects in the public sector is presented.

The authors conclude the paper with some suggestions and recommendations to alleviate some of the challenges of software development in the Sudanese public sector.
