Ancient Arabic poetry was related to several legendary backgrounds permitting the poet to get over the obvious into the supernatural and miracles.

This poetry transcended the existing images of women, tribes and selves and gave nature a soul and a life.

Further, ancient poets turned planets into gods, sanctified idols, and made natural and universal phenomena submissive.

Therefore, it is not strange to find a legendary background for anything in pre-Islamic poetry.

This background inspired poets' minds with a rich and fertile imagination with the ability to swim in the oceans of creativity and art, and to create poetic images giving poetry several significations.

This is why we deny the idea that ancient Arabic poetry was characterized with superficiality and lack of deep feelings and the surveying of the depths of the human experiences.

The reader of Nabigha Dobyani's collection of poetry would find in its fold’s lineaments and signs to the features of the legendary universe of Arabs.

The poet draws images and paintings with legendary significations.
