The studies which deal with family issues in general and family communication in particular are among the most important topics currently being considered .

This is because the family is related to every individual in society and is regarded as the first teacher.

The purpose of this study is to identify concepts related to family communication and the relevant studies in general as an initial step for other scientific research that could touch on the communicative aspect of the Algerian family in order to understand its distinctive nature and its cultural, social and historical heritage.

For these reasons, the researcher tried to collect data related to communication within the family, to answer many questions, including: - What communication methods are being used within the family? - What are their distinctive characteristics? - What are the categories under which these methods can be incorporated? - How can these methods be divided ? and to what types ? Which resulted in a scientific material that sheds light on the nature of communication within the family and its various components in preparation for other studies on family communication in the context of the distinguished Algerian family environment.
