The research investigate the Syrian National movement and its substantial role the resistance to French Colonialism that has adopted dictatorship policies based on oppression and terrorism, After the aspiration of Syrian people for full independence from foreign control have failed following the First world war, the Syrian National Movement has cast upon the character of Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, a skillful war commander who was then elected as a King on the throne of Syria.

Under the san Remo Conference in 1920, Syria and Lebanon fell under French mandate .

Ever since the establishment pf partisan formation represented by the Syria-Palestinian Executive Committee and Syria political parties, the national movement has adopted numerous methods of resistance to colonial power.

In the beginning, there was the Syrian method of armed struggle.

Another form was the people's Armed Uprisings and revolution of which Sheikh Saleh Al Ali revolution in the mountains of Latakia was the first.

Then, the Great Syrian Revolution broke out in 1925 which called for the basic national demands of the Syrian People.

It was popular revolution in which all Syrians of various segment and social strata have participated forcing the French government to reconsider its policies in Syria by replacing the then French High commissioner with a new one.
