Abstract EN

This research is an analytical study of the content of the book of the kurdish reading for the second grade of the basic stage, which is the curriculum decided by the directorate general of curricula and publications in the ministry of education in the kurdistan regional government, which is taught in all public schools in the region.

the main objective of this research is to identify and focus on the values that have been highlighted in the book as well as the values that have not been emphasized or taken care of and which have been completely ignored in the same book.

the purpose of the research is to determine the number of pages that have been allocated compared to the areas of illustrations and literary arts in the written book.

in spite of the importance of values in the curricula and textbooks, the researcher points out the scarcity and shortage of scientific research that deals with this aspect with the reference of the researcher to the lack of a list of values arranged according to each stage of the basic study by the ministry of education.

the study stressed the importance of childhood as a sensitive stage in the education project, especially the stage between (6-9) years, in addition to the definition of what values and the meaning of this term, based on a number of research and studies conducted previously in other countries within the same specialization.

in order to achieve this research, all the subjects were analyzed in the second grade, which consisted of (28) topics, distributed on (9) topics related to poetry, (19) topics related to the article (construction) and stories, in addition to (52) different sizes and spaces are distributed over (80) pages comprising the entire curriculum.

in order to achieve the values contained in the content of the book and the number and percentage of the book, the white classification of values was selected and used.

in the analysis procedures a questionnaire was prepared to determine the values and to extract the truth and consistency, and to consider the value within the analysis category, the pages and all the images were measured with the subjects, and the results of the most recent, which are the most important: in this book there are 324 existing values (knowledge, health, work, ethics, care, nationalism, culture, honesty, activity, new experiences, excitement, beauty, Kurdistan geography, unity of the group, love and friendship).

(tolerance, humility, cleanliness, happiness, history of the Kurds, Kurdish heritage, etc.), and no sign of values (adaptation, emotional security, appreciation, appearance, independence, welfare, religion).

the groups of values were in the following order: (social, recreational, physical, practical, cognitive, national, moral and ego).

also, small spaces were allocated to the images, with little use of colors, and there were many empty white spaces within the pages, the story within the literary arts, and all this in addition to some suggestions and recommendations.
