Abstract EN

This study aims at discovering concept of “MANDOUB, I.E plausible recommended” under light of theoretical framework of welfare in Islam.

The research has elected three prominent Muslims well known experts in the field of “MAQASID; Islamic Objectives” to examine their understandings of “recommended act” from perspective of “Islamic objectives”.

Al-Qarafi is one of them, who believed that “recommended act” is preferable in some casesthan “obligatory”.

Moreover, Ibn Taimiyyah is another grounded Muslim scholar who has valuable views in that particular field.

To him a Muslim is to leave performance of “recommended act” once it is in obvious contradiction with interest or welfare, such as in case of distinguishing between “Obligatory” and “recommended act” etc.

Furthermore, Al-Shatibi is one of the pioneers in the field of “Islamic Objectives”; he also was concerned about “recommended act” from MAQASID perspective, he further examined it under light of general principles, to the point that it extends individual onto level of entire society, due to the fact that leaving “recommended act” may lead to destruction of social system.

Thus, it is very clear that those three solid Muslim scholars put forward theory of welfare into consideration while addressing concept of “recommended act”.
