Abstract EN

This research aims to investigate the nature of the correlated relationship between academic procrastination and self-confidence, as well as to investigate the differences in both the academic procrastination and self-confidence according to the academic year and gender.

To achieve the aims of the study an Academic Procrastination Scale (prepared by the researchers), and Self-Confidence Scale (prepared by M.

Abu Dakkah) have been used.

The sample was (118) of 1st and 4th undergraduate students of Psychology Department (Faculty of Education in Damascus University).

The concluded results are: - The academic procrastination level among the sample’s members, was of a medium level.

- The self-confidence level among the sample’s members, was of a medium level.

- There is a negative correlational relationship between academic procrastination and self-confidence among the sample’s members.

- There are statistically significant differences among the average performances of the sample’s members according to the academic procrastination scale, related to the academic year variable in favor of the 4 st year students, and in favour of the male members as well.

- There are no statistically significant differences among the average students’ performances according to the self-confidence scale attributed to both the academic year and gender variables.
