Abstract EN

This research studies the situation of the electrical power sector in terms of production and the electrical power productive capacity of plants.

The research has focused on two stages: Pre and post Syrian crisis.

Statistics refer to a development in production till 2010.

But from the beginning of the crisis, the electrical power sector has been largely affected because of the terrorist attacks upon the electrical sector infrastructure.

This situation has made it necessary to study and discuss solutions for developing the electrical power sector once again by building and establishing new power stations in Damascus countryside that can be models to follow.

These new stations have to be built according to the specifications and standards set by the Ministry of Electricity, and according to the Ministry's future plan that relies on renewable energy, and on improving the existing hydro-electrical power station.

The findings of the research have been calibrated along with the suggestive solutions to select better sites to establish new electrical power stations, and to analyze the positive and negative points of each site.

An analysis is provided to the final map that ensures best results in improving the electrical power sector.
