After the Turkish Justice and Development Party (AKP) came to power, Turkey began to try to re- evaluate its relations with the United states, especially after the radical relations after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, And the new role that Turkey is trying to play in the regions of central Asia, The Balkans and the Middle East.

Thus began the features of change in the relationship between the two sides take new directions, Turkey has sought to become a regional power with its own national interests and goals, Especially after the substantial growth in its economic, potential and its membership in the (G-20).

But despite these new trends, both sides wanted to maintain their strategic relations and not reach a state of separation..
