Since the end of the 20 the century, various changes or rather transformations both at domestic and regional levels ,played a great role in shaping Japanese-Middle East relations ending in a new vision of Japanese policy towards the area.
The new Japanese approach appeared especially in adopting military means in the process of settling the Middle East crisis and in advancing forward stronger coordination with US policy in the region as well as devoting greater political and diplomatic efforts to maintain Japan’s vital interests in the Middle East zone.
The new developments in Japan’s policy towards the Middle East appeared in a clear manner in the occupation of Iraq (2003).
